Indiana police: Woman says husband shot her in mouth during argument over Bitcoin
A Kentucky man was arrested for attempted murder last week after police said he shot his wife in the mouth over an apparent argument over Bitcoin.
According to the Harrison County Prosecutor's Office, court records confirm that the shooting happened Wednesday at a home in Palmyra.
Harrison County police wrote in a probable cause affidavit that they were notified Wednesday afternoon that someone had been shot at a home. When they arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the mouth and neck.
The woman, identified as the victim, is married to Darrell S. Bullion, who was arrested on an attempted murder charge, aggravated battery and domestic battery.
According to police who responded to the scene, the homeowner told investigators that Bullion and his wife had come to visit when Bullion began complaining of chest pains.
The homeowner said 911 was notified, and when that occurred, Bullion's wife went outside to smoke a cigarette. Moments later, the homeowner said she heard a loud boom.
That's when the homeowner said she saw Bullion in the doorway with a gun.
According to the affidavit, responding police officers said they found the gun used in the shooting, and several areas of the home that had blood on them,
When the officers went to interview the victim at UofL Hospital, they were told she was in surgery in critical condition. They said that one of the nurses was able to give her a piece of paper, in which she wrote that her husband, Bullion, shot her over Bitcoin.
Police have not released an update on the woman's condition.
Bullion was initially taken to a hospital over his chest pains but was then cleared. He was then taken to Harrison County Corrections, where he was booked on the charges.
Investigators said Bullion would not speak with them about what happened.
During the shooting, two children were also present in the home, both of whom told police that they saw Bullion shoot the woman, police said.
