Email marketing can be an effective business tool, but somehow the balance seems to have tipped: it has become less about marketing and more about email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Something has to be causing the increase in spam complaints though, All of that annoying spam email has to be coming from somewhere.\u00a0 We all can agree that receiving spam email\u00a0 is an annoying waste of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/VR-Headset_icon-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/VR-Headset_icon-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/VR-Headset_icon-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/VR-Headset_icon-1024x1024.png 1024w, https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/VR-Headset_icon-768x768.png 768w, https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/VR-Headset_icon.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There has to be a point where a commercial email stops being email marketing and starts being email spam. That point in time is blatantly obvious to those of us who receive unsolicited email and oblivious to the people sending those messages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you begin using email marketing, there are a few useful things to remember: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Commercial email should never be sent to people that do not ask to receive it. <\/li><li>Keep a record of the requests to be added to your marketing list (complete with <a href=\"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/encyclopedia\/ip-address\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"The term IP address refers to Internet Protocol address.\u00a0 It is a numerical address that is assigned to any device connected to the internet.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">IP address<\/a>es the requests were sent from. <\/li><li>Follow up requests to be added to your mailing list, and ask people to confirm that they indeed want to be added.
