{"id":922,"date":"2009-10-27T18:23:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-27T18:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/?p=922"},"modified":"2021-08-28T01:41:41","modified_gmt":"2021-08-28T01:41:41","slug":"windows-7-is-so-last-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/2009\/10\/27\/windows-7-is-so-last-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Windows 7 is so last week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It\u2019s already last week since Microsoft released the latest version of\u00a0 its client-side operating sy<a href=\"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/encyclopedia\/stem\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"STEM is a term that refers to the broad study area of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">stem<\/a>, Windows 7.\u00a0 Time is flying by faster than a Mylar balloon in the Colorado wind. Co-incidentally with the release of Windows 7 there was a new store opening of a\u00a0 local big-box electronics retailer.\u00a0 They were offering a bunch of specials, one of them was on an HP laptop that included Windows 7. We were enticed by the siren-call-promise\u00a0 of\u00a0 \u201cminimum 10 per store\u201d and dutifully joined a rainy soaked lineup at 9:30 AM last Friday in anticipation of the 11 AM opening. It was oddly reminiscent of lining up for (insert your favorite band name here) tickets.\u00a0 We haven\u2019t had much of a chance to test out Windows 7\u00a0 yet, but so far it appears to be faster than Vista, and so far hasn\u2019t asked us to double-confirm that yes, we want to do a routine task. For our laptops, Microsoft Windows is the Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon of operating sy<a href=\"https:\/\/pingyour.com\/blog\/encyclopedia\/stem\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"STEM is a term that refers to the broad study area of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.\" class=\"encyclopedia\">stem<\/a>s.
