Sandybridge is the name that Intel gave to its series of processors that it released in January 2011.
The series before Sandybridge was called Nehalem and the series after it was called Ivy Bridge. Common Sandybridge processors used in dedicated servers include the Xeon E5 and Xeon E3 series, such as:
