RAM is a short form for Random Access Memory. Most often in it is in the form of a physical plug-in “stick” that can be added to a computer or web server’s motherboard. Sometimes it is described as a computer’s “short term memory” which is accurate in that the more RAM that a computer [or web server] has installed, usually it can do more tasks at the same time.
