PHP is a programming language that is sometimes used for writing web page code and scripts. It was developed in 1994 and one of its advantages over other options for script code is that the code processing is server-side with the resulting html sent to the client web-browser.
PHP allows for a level of public anonymity of the underlying code behind the web pages that are displayed on the internet.
